Parks and free time
One of the most beloved routes by Reggio Emilia citizens is the Caprette Park and the bicycle and pedestrian walk of the Crostolo stream.
A peculiarity of the park is the presence of some Tibetan goats, from which it takes its name, free to wander around the green area.
Mainly visited by children thanks to the presence of animals and several games, the park is also a reference point in the spring-summer time, when some events are organized, as the renowned and crowded Picnic!Festival, the festival dedicated to illustration and comics.
Not far away, in the wonderful landscape of the Rodano Park, is the Asineria didattica-ASINI DI REGGIO EMILIA: the ideal place to become familiar with these animals, take walks and rest in the shade of the grove.
In order to stay updated on scheduled events please visit the website Asinomondo, il mondo degli Asini di Reggio Emilia.
On the outskirts, in the hamlet of Marmirolo, there is the Oasi WWF Marmirolo, an area of about 10 hectares in which a very high number of birds nest and reproduce.
The WWF oasis of Marmirolo is open from March to June and from September to November on weekends and holidays:
Saturday from 2.00 to 7.00 p.m.

The WWF Section of Reggio Emilia makes telescopes and binoculars available to visitors and schoolchildren.
In the park behind the visitor center, games and naturalistic workshops are held for children.

The knowledge of Reggio Emilia also means going and discover how its top product is produced: Parmigiano Reggiano, the king of cheeses.
Visiting a dairy or a farm may be an unforgettable experience for children and adults.
But be careful!
The cheesemakers work the cheese early in the morning, so it is necessary to get up early so as not to miss any single step of cheese processing.
We also remind you that it is necessary to book in advance.
