History

April 10, 1938, on the Adriatic beach of Marzocco near Senigallia, 6 big sperm whales beached and then died. The smallest of them was carried aboard a truck and taken to Reggio Emilia, where it was embalmed, acquired by the Civic Museum: there, April 15, 1939, it was first exhibited and admired by several scientists from all over Europe led by Vinassa de Regny, Head Mistress of Pavia University.
