"Fotografia Europea 2026 experience"
April 30 - June 14, 2026
Reggio Emilia
Hidden memories and urban art in dialogue with Fotografia Europea. A special journey through the historic center and the northern district of the city, discovering sites of urban transformation. From Joan Fontcuberta’s collective artwork at the Chiostri di San Pietro to the Mirabello Stadium and the Ex Mangimificio Caffarri, we will walk between memory and the contemporary.

We’ll explore spaces that no longer exist in their original form and those we are witnessing slowly empty out and transform, making room for new stimuli and ideas. This itinerary is dedicated to urban art, industrial architecture, and our "everyday ghosts," all in dialogue with the 2026 Fotografia Europea Festival.

Walking among porticoes, sculptures, mosaics, frescoes and monumental tombs created by masters such as Prospero Sorgato and Anselmo Govi, we will discover how this neoclassical space tells the story of the city’s identity and past through artistic forms and the lives of notable characters.
