A fascinating tour in the heart of Reggio Emilia dedicated to the many female figures who have shaped the city’s artistic and cultural history. Through sculptures, paintings, historical testimonies and civic memories, the tour reveals the faces, symbols, and stories of women who have left a profound mark on the heritage of Reggio Emilia. A journey that weaves together art, identity and memory, restoring a central role to women across the centuries.

Entrance: Ghiara Church and Tricolour Flag Hall.

Female Figures in the Art of Reggio Emilia

The literary, artistic, and scientific richness of Reggio Emilia. Tour through the city’s symbolic landmarks that tells the story of its cultural wealth through the Reggio Emilia-born figures who have shaped the history of Italian culture. From great literary figures such as Ludovico Ariosto and Matteo Maria Boiardo, to stage masters like Maria Melato and Romolo Valli, and on to places that evoke the creativity of personalities who revolutionized music, painting, and science, such as Zucchero, Ligabue, Antonio Fontanesi, and Chierici. An immersive journey celebrating the genius and legacy of these leading figures, between past and present.
