In the heart of Reggio Emilia, the Chiostri di San Pietro are one of the city’s most fascinating monumental complexes. Founded in the 16th century as a Benedictine monastery, it combines the Renaissance harmony of the Chiostro Piccolo, designed by Bartolomeo Spani and enriched by rediscovered ancient frescoes, with the Mannerist grandeur of the Chiostro Grande by the Pacchioni brothers, inspired by the famous Palazzo Te in Mantua. After centuries of ups and downs, today the complex is a vibrant cultural hub restored to its former glory.

By taking part in the guided tour, which of about 45 minutes, you will be able to explore the most evocative parts of the complex: from the outdoor garden to the historic rooms (the former Chapel and the 1820 Hall), right through to the monumental Chiostro Grande and the fascinating Seven Halls. The tour also includes the exclusive immersive virtual reality experience “È pericoloso non sporgersi” (curated by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto), a unique fusion of dance and digital innovation.
