Reggio Emilia Marathon – “City of the Tricolour Flag"

Over the years, the Reggio Emilia Marathon has become a traditional fixture of the running season and is characterized by its high number of participants. This year's edition will once again feature professional and amateur athletes of national and international standing, adding prestige and distinction to the event.The Reggio Emilia Marathon is characterized by its close connection to its territory. Despite becoming an international event, it hasn't lost the local characteristics that define its uniqueness. Just think of the name "Maratona di Reggio Emilia Città del Tricolore-," which alone captures two of the region's defining characteristics: first, the history, so important to the citizens of Reggio Emilia, of the birth of the first Tricolour flag right here in our territory; and second, the culture of food, of good food, led by Parmigiano Reggiano, its ambassador par excellence.

The route will reach the first hills of Quattro Castella, passing through the town of Montecavolo, another area of exceptional historical importance and the hillside of Matilda of Canossa.
