Created as part of the Ducato Estense regeneration project, this new square is now a meeting point where history, nature and walking routes converge.
Two major city routes pass through here: the Via dei Ducati and the Via Matildica del Volto Santo, which follow the ancient ducal route to the splendid Reggia di Rivalta.

In front of the 18th-century Chiesa del Cristo, an elegant water feature recalls the memory of the Crostolo stream, which once flowed through this very spot, creating a suggestive link between the square and its past.

Continuing past the church, it’s just a short walk to Piazza Fontanesi, one of Reggio Emilia’s most popular and lively squares.
