Historical notes
The inscription above the portal dates the church to year 1100.
Restoration and extension works were carried out in 1763, when the façade was reconstructed in Classical style.
The bell tower, sacristy, and choir were built in their present form in 1885.
The church contains a wealth of Baroque stuccos and a crucifix from the school of Guido Reni.
The side chapels were added several centuries after first building of the church.
