(1924-2021)

Stanislao Farri was born in Bibbiano in 1924.
It was amidst the streets and landscapes of this village that his observant and poetic eye took shape, destined to chronicle the memory and identity of the local area throughout his life.

His childhood and adolescence spent in Bibbiano left a deep mark on his life: even after moving to Reggio Emilia in 1949, Farri remained emotionally attached to his hometown, which he continued to photograph and reinterpret over the years.

His photography thus became a true journey through local culture: landscapes, traditions, architecture and daily life were transformed into images capable of preserving collective memory.

It is no coincidence that a significant part of his work is dedicated precisely to documenting the culture and cultural heritage of the Emilia region.

Even today, Bibbiano proudly preserves and celebrates this connection.
Exhibitions, events and the Stanislao Farri National Photography Prize pay tribute to the photographer, turning the village into a hub for enthusiasts and artists.
