Re Welcome: Kids
not to be missed
Museums Palace, the children's museum
The Museums Palace is the main museum of Reggio Emilia. Inside, the scientific collections of Lazzaro Spallanzani, the zoology collections of zoology with the collection of African fauna of Baron Raimondo Franchetti, the anatomy and ethnography collections, and the portico of Roman marbles, with a special section dedicated to the Regium Lepidi, are certainly the starting points to visit the town. A museum that has seen generations of children grow up in its halls and that can still amaze us, thanks to new installations and workshop spaces.
Loris Malaguzzi International Centre
A space open to all ages, ideas, different cultures, which, starting from the experience of municipal nurseries and kindergartens, offers research, innovation and experimentation on the contents and educational processes for people aged 0-99. A real manifesto of the Reggio Emilia Approach®.
Outdoor adventures
There are many activities you can do in the open air: from the Cerwood adventure park, the largest in Italy, to the big panoramic benches, from walks in the Crostolo Park, to the WWF Marmirolo Oasis, there is something for everyone. Do not forget the system of castles and fortifications that has become famous all over the world!
Gastronomic visits
Every morning in Emilia is a small but important magic that is repeated: in the dairies the milk is transformed into Parmigiano Reggiano, which begins its maturation process to become the "King of Cheeses". The whole manufacturing process is very fascinating at all ages, but for children it may be a perfect time to learn the local agricultural tradition and food education.
