Monumental Cemetery

A journey through art, collective memory, and architecture at the Monumental Cemetery of Reggio Emilia, founded in the 17th century and transformed in the 19th century based on a design by Domenico Marchelli. Walking among porticoes, sculptures, mosaics, frescoes, and monumental tombs created by masters such as Prospero Sorgato and Anselmo Govi, we will discover how this neoclassical space tells the story of the city’s identity and past through artistic forms and the lives of notable figures.
