Reggio Emilia - Memories of the Present

Hidden memories and urban art in dialogue with Fotografia Europea. A special journey through the historic center and the northern district of the city, discovering sites of urban transformation. From Joan Fontcuberta’s collective artwork at the Chiostri di San Pietro to the Mirabello Stadium and the Ex Mangimificio Caffarri, we will walk between memory and the contemporary. We’ll explore spaces that no longer exist in their original form and those we are witnessing slowly empty out and transform, making room for new stimuli and ideas. This itinerary is dedicated to urban art, industrial architecture, and our "everyday ghosts," all in dialogue with the 2026 Fotografia Europea Festival.

Timetable

Meeting point: Reggio Emilia Welcome - Tourist Information and Reception Office (IAT-R), Via Farini, 1/A, 42121 Reggio Emilia.
Duration: 2h.
Guide: guided tours will be conducted in Italian by qualified tour guides. Audio receivers will not be used.
Participants: groups of up to 30 people.

The route is totally accessible to people with mobility difficulties and wheelchair users.

Adults: 10 €
Free: children under 12 and companions for persons with disabilities.
Promo: 8 € for guests staying in city hotels (proof of hotel reservation required) and Fotografia Europea 2026 ticket holders.
