Re Welcome: Art
our wonders
The Tricolour Flag
The Italian flag was born in Reggio Emilia, the town is proud of it and deeply recognizes in itself first among other cities in Italy. A visit to the Tricolour Flag Hall and the related museum, which combines the history of the Italian Risorgimento with the town of Reggio Emilia, is something to do at least once in a lifetime.
Museums
Not only is the Tricolour, but also archaeology, nature, ethnography, sacred art, authentic and fake paintings, antiquities and contemporary works. This and much more is kept and exhibited in the museums and galleries of Reggio Emilia and its Province. Each one has its own peculiarity and promotes initiatives and events that enrich the cultural proposals of the area all year.
Churches
Faith, art, history and ideals intertwine and merge in the churches, basilicas and monasteries of the town of Reggio Emilia and its Province: from the smallest and full of history to the most majestic ones. Whether they are majestic chests of treasures and exceptional works of art or secluded spaces of peace and reflection, each one has its own unique story and hidden secrets to reveal.
San Pietro Cloisters
The San Pietro Cloisters are the most extraordinary monumental complex in Reggio Emilia, one of the most evocative of the Italian Renaissance, with a shape bearing the unmistakable hand of Giulio Romano. After a recent restoration, they are now one of the most significant cultural venues of the town centre and host exhibitions and events.
