Brescello lies on the banks of the Po River, close to the main embankment, at the point where the Enza River flows into the Po River, about 30 km north of Reggio Emilia.
Brescello is a unique village that combines a history stretching back a thousand years with cinematic charm.
As well as preserving Roman and medieval remains, it is famous as the setting for the Don Camillo and Peppone films, characters who have become part of the Italian collective imagination.

Brescello can be visited all year, but the best seasons are spring and early autumn, when the climate is mild and the days are ideal for walking through the centre and along the Po River.
Summer offers events and open-air nights, although temperatures may be high, while winter provides a quieter, more atmospheric setting: the mist that sometimes envelops the village creates a distinctive and charming atmosphere.
