(1954)

Omar Galliani is one of Italy’s leading contemporary artists, internationally recognized for his unique style and the refinement of his graphite drawings, for which he has been acknowledged as a key figure in the world of figurative art.

He was born in Montecchio Emilia in 1954 and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where he then became a lecturer.
From the very beginning, he developed a highly personal artistic language, focused on drawing as the ultimate form of expression.

His work focuses primarily on portraiture and the human figure, often monumental and immersed in suspended atmospheres, created through a skilful use of chiaroscuro and meticulous detail.
His works, predominantly executed in pencil on board, evoke a dialogue between Renaissance tradition and contemporary sensibility.

Galliani exhibits in major museums and galleries worldwide, taking his art to Europe, Asia and America.
His work is recognized for its ability to unite classicism and modernity, transforming drawing into a form of visual meditation.

He is now considered one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary Italian art and continues to live and work between Italy and the international scene, maintaining a strong connection with Emilia and his artistic training.
