Luciano Ligabue
(March 13, 1960)
Luciano Ligabue is one of the main figures in contemporary Italian music and a figure deeply connected to Correggio, the town in Emilia where he was born and where he forged his artistic identity.
He was born in Correggio March 13, 1960 and grew up in a provincial background that became a constant source of inspiration for him.
Before starting his musical career, he did various jobs (as a factory worker, office clerk and radio presenter) and experienced the daily life of the Emilian countryside, which became one of the main themes of his artistic production.
It is precisely this everyday experience in the Bassa Reggiana region that finds its way directly into the lyrics of his songs, which tell stories of ordinary people, dreams, roads and provincial life.
The turning point came in the early 1990s, when he released his debut album, Ligabue, and quickly emerged as a distinctive voice in Italian rock.
From that moment on, tracks such as Balliamo sul mondo, Certe notti and Piccola stella senza cielo strengthened his popularity with the general public, telling stories of provincial life, dreams and everyday existence in a direct and recognizable style.
In addition to music, Ligabue has also made a name for himself as a writer and director: he directed the film Radiofreccia (1998), set in the world of local provincial radio stations, and continues to explore the emotional landscape of his homeland through his literary and cinematic works.
