The Eco-Park covers an area of approximately 55 hectares, stretching from the summit of Mount Grafagnana down to the Crostolo stream.

Owned by the Province of Reggio Emilia, it is managed by the Municipality of Vezzano sul Crostolo.

Thanks to its morphological and naturalistic features, it stands as a fine example of environmental redevelopment: nestled in the lower hills of the Reggio area, it is characterized by a mixed forest of Austrian pine (introduced through afforestation efforts dating back to the early 20th century) and typical oak woodland, alternating with meadows and clearings.

The Pinetina of Vezzano sul Crostolo is home to numerous wildlife species that live freely among pine woods, badlands, and crags.
Although elusive to the eye, they occasionally venture closer to the main visitor area. Other animals that require or have required protected environments are housed in dedicated, carefully restored spaces: rabbits, donkeys, and tortoises are just a few examples.

In collaboration with Legambiente, the Pinetina aims to serve as a hub for environmental education and local flora and fauna awareness, a driver for family-friendly recreational initiatives, and a point of reference for outdoor sports and physical activities focused on wellness.
