“In the green space south of the former foundry, now home to the National Dance Foundation – Aterballetto, stands Dance of Stars and Celestial Bodies, the imposing work by Eliseo Mattiacci created in 2006.
An installation conceived specifically to engage in dialogue with the vast natural expanse and the sky above it, transporting the viewer into a universe suspended between earth and space.

Three large steel slabs, ten meters long and two meters high, rise from the lawn like three pages of an ancient astronomy book, engraved with enigmatic signs that evoke the order and mystery of the cosmos.
The use of steel is no coincidence: the material radiates both energy and lightness, blending harmoniously with the surrounding environment.

The work continues Mattiacci’s research, begun in the 1980s, aimed at creating installations inspired by the energies of celestial bodies, in which space seems to stretch into infinity and the boundary between sky and earth dissolves.
Walking among the slabs of Dance of Stars and Celestial Bodies becomes a unique sensory experience: light, reflections of the sky, and the rhythm of the engraved signs guide the viewer into a poetic and mysterious vision of the universe, transforming a simple stroll into a moment of contemplation and wonder.”
