Spazio Gerra

Spazio Gerra has been established as a new cultural centre in the heart of Reggio Emilia, combining architecture and urban planning to enhance a strategic area of the historic city centre.

Situated between the square behind the Teatro Ariosto to the south and the sunken area near the Cavallerizza to the north, the building serves as an urban hub that opens up new routes and vistas, integrating seamlessly with the redevelopment project for Piazza della Vittoria.

The relationship between public space and cultural centre creates an engaging dynamic between empty and full, transparency and opacity, stillness and movement, transforming the area into a true hub of urban vitality.

Across its multiple floors, Spazio Gerra hosts the infinite variety of contemporary culture, showcasing exhibitions of art, photography, illustration, comics, graphic design, advertising, cinema, television, video screenings and digital works.

But the centre is not limited to sight: it also stimulates the other senses with auditory, tactile, olfactory and gustatory experiences, offering a dialogue between perception and creativity that engages all visitors.

Situato tra la piazza retrostante il Teatro Ariosto a Sud e lo spazio ribassato vicino alla Cavallerizza a Nord, l’edificio rappresenta un nodo urbano che apre nuovi percorsi e scenari, integrandosi perfettamente con il progetto di riqualificazione di Piazza della Vittoria.
