The Permanent Exhibition of Rural Life is located in the evocative 15th-century cellars of the Gonzaga Fortress in Novellara, a true journey through time to discover the rural life of the area.
Born in the 1970s from a school project in which students collected objects and tools used by their grandparents, the exhibition has become an important testimony to the local rural culture.
Thanks to the commitment of volunteers, residents, and families, the exhibition is now enriched with thousands of original objects that tell the story of work in the fields, domestic habits, and artisanal traditions.
Each tool and utensil on display speaks to the history, knowledge, and skills that have made the Novellara community great.
The exhibition also showcases typical local products, such as Lambrusco, Parmigiano Reggiano, cured meats, and honey, illustrating the profound connection between rural culture and excellent food and wine.
The visit allows you to immerse yourself in an authentic environment, where past and present meet, just a few steps from the Gonzaga Museum, the Tagliavini Theater, and the Municipal Vinegar Factory, making the Rocca a true cultural and museum center of reference.
