Livello 9 - Luoghi del '900 Museum
Livello 9 is a special museum: you don’t need to leave home to discover it, because its home is… the internet!
Launched by Istoreco, the museum recounts the history of the 20th century through the significant sites of Reggio Emilia, offering a unique and immersive perspective that brings this great history directly to your computer or tablet screen.
Every object in this digital museum is a building, a square or a street in the city, and every ‘display case’ is an interactive space that reveals events, anecdotes and testimonies.
Just like a traditional museum, Level 9 is organised into themed rooms: the first to open is dedicated to Reggio between 1938 and 1948, a crucial decade spanning from the fascist racial laws to the birth of the Republican Constitution.
A period packed with events: the war, the Resistance, and the political and cultural reconstruction that transformed the city and the lives of its inhabitants.
The 1938–1948 room features fourteen emblematic locations, some well-known to all, others more hidden, and tells the story behind each building, revealing what often escapes the everyday eye.
It is a museum that combines memory, research and technology, offering the public an educational and engaging experience, accessible to anyone wishing to learn about the recent history of Reggio Emilia without leaving their sofa.
Click on each room and immerse yourself in the history of Reggio Emilia.
