The monument is accessible at all times

In Scandiano’s Parco della Resistenza, behind the town cinema, stands one of the most significant monuments dedicated to historical memory: the Monument to Peace and Freedom, conceived by the celebrated Italian designer Bruno Munari.

Entitled “Insiemediversi è meglio”, the monument is a powerful symbol of the founding values of a democratic society: freedom, tolerance, solidarity and democracy.
These ideals, renewed through the contribution of partisans during the Liberation fight, find a modern and poetic expression in Munari's work.

The artwork consists of anemometers rotating in different directions, symbolising the diversity of individuals, however united by a common element: a metal stele.
Despite their different movements, they all follow the same course, as shown by the rudder-shaped arrow balanced on top of the shaft.
This arrow symbolically guides them towards a path of unity and memory.

At its base, a circular podium features the faces of the fallen partisans from Scandiano, immortalising their sacrifice and ideally connecting today's society to the history of Resistance.

The monument is not merely a memorial to the past, but also an invitation to reflect on the values of living together, respect for diversity and civic engagement.
