The Palace is the seat of the municipality and can only be visited from the outside.

From here, you can access the Tricolore Hall during its opening hours.

The Town Hall dominates the main square of Reggio Emilia, dedicated to Camillo Prampolini, and represents the institutional and historical heart of the city.
The first activities of the City Council date back to 1434, with meetings that were also held under the external loggia, as documented in 1461.
Over the centuries, the building has expanded to accommodate municipal offices, becoming a symbol of administrative continuity.

The façade, elegant and solemn, dates back to 1774 and is the work of the architect Ludovico Bolognini.
It is characterized by an elegant three-arched portico with paired pillars and crowned by the coat of arms of the Municipality.

Inside, some rooms preserve precious eighteenth-century decorations and nineteenth-century paintings, which recount the taste and representativeness of the building over time.
In the entrance hall, placed in a suggestive fake niche, is the statue of Marco Emilio Lepido, the Roman consul and founder of the city: a symbolic presence that connects the ancient origins of Reggio Emilia to its modern history.

From here, one accesses the famous Sala del Tricolore (Tricolore Hall), where in 1797 the green, white, and red flag was officially born, later adopted as the national banner, an unmissable stop for those who wish to immerse themselves in the history and culture of Reggio Emilia, among art, architecture, and civic tradition.
