According to tradition, the San Bernardino Church was founded in the 15th century by the Franciscan friars, who spread the worship and spirituality of their Order throughout the region.
Having fallen into ruin over time, it was completely rebuilt at the end of the 17th century, retaining a single nave with three altars and an architectural simplicity that reflects its Franciscan character.

During the 19th century, it underwent further restoration: the rectory was rebuilt at the behest of the local council, bearing witness to the deep bond between the community and its place of worship.
