The fountain is in front of the Valli Theatre

Description

It was built in accordance with geometrical principles and functions that are reminders of the history of the place and lend themselves to various possibilities for use.
Apart from bringing back memories of the gush of water that leaked out from the pavement in this very area and which were illuminated by beams of electric light in November 1885, on the occasion of the inauguration of the community acqueduct donated by Ulderico Levi – it is designed as a flexible structure, as easily able to take centre stage in the square as to shrink into the background and even to disappear completely. The fountain allows for the construction of multifarious scenographies and different interactions with the surrounding spaces, presenting itself either in rectangular or circular form. With the jets turned off, the area in front of the theatre becomes a great open forum that can be used to stage events, shows and open-air theatrical spectacles. With the fountains on, the area becomes a space characterised by water games, functioning as furnishings that invite contemplation, rest and relaxation. The computer-controlled water jets can be connected to musical events presented inside the theatre or be used at special moments in the life of the town.
