Longing by Mario Pavesi

A great bronze horse, majestic and combative, a hymn to life and strength with which to fight disease. It is the sculpture by Mario Pavesi, a work that comes directly from the artist's house in Novellara, the result for a large part of the artist's generosity.

DESCRIZIONE DELL'OPERA

Historical data about the artist

Mario Pavesi was born in Guastalla (Reggio Emilia) August 5, 1945. After high school he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and followed the Umberto Mastroianni Sculpture Course. There he met sculptor Dante Carpigiani who, together with the Novellara-born painter Vivaldo Poli, will become reference points for his human and artistic training. In forty years of activity, he has experimented with several painting and sculpture trends, always and in any case free from the logic of the market and the fashions of the time, but always linked to the sphere of emotions and the constant search for a suffered self-exploration. Currently, in addition to artistic production, he dedicates himself to an intense educational activity by holding training courses at various levels. He lives and works in Novellara, in the province of Reggio Emilia.
