Low-Traffic Zones

To make the most of your visit to Reggio Emilia’s historic centre, it is worth noting that the area is governed by a Low-Traffic Zones (ZTL), which is accessible by car only to authorised vehicles.

All entry points are monitored by electronic systems and CCTV cameras operating 24 hours a day, which automatically check the authorisation of passing vehicles.

We therefore recommend leaving your car in car parks outside the ZTL, from where you can take a shuttle bus or continue on foot to explore the attractions of the city centre.

Permits Office

The Permits Office is responsible for issuing transit and parking permits for the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) and the pedestrian areas of the historic centre for motor vehicles and motorcycles with an engine capacity of over 50 cc.
Applications can also be made online via the sostaReonline website.
Temporary permits can be applied for online via the sostaReonline portal or at the dedicated kiosks located at various points around the city.
