Parva Mundi
Brescello - piazza Matteotti
Date
From 18 to 20 September 2026, Brescello will host the second edition of Parva Mundi, a festival celebrating the “Little World” through the culture, memories, flavours and traditions of the land along the Great River Po.
A weekend to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Po Valley and rediscover the places that provided the backdrop for the beloved stories of Don Camillo and Peppone.
This is where the literature of Giovannino Guareschi met the world of cinema, making the village famous around the globe, while also inspiring important figures such as Cesare Zavattini and Antonio Ligabue.
The festival opens on Friday evening with Lieti Calici, an evening dedicated to tasting wines from selected local wineries, accompanied by dinner, music and entertainment in the heart of the village.
Among the most evocative events is the Blessing of the River Po, a procession from the centre of Brescello to the banks of the Great River, as well as a re-enactment of the 1946 elections, featuring a period-costume parade and Peppone’s famous speech.
Families and children can also enjoy games, performances and farm animals at Parco Guareschi, adding a playful touch to this journey through the authentic spirit of Brescello and its “Little World”.
