Iva Zanicchi
Iva Zanicchi is one of the most powerful and recognizable voices in Italian music, a leading figure on the music scene from the 1960s until now and deeply rooted in the Bassa Reggiana region.
She was born in Ligonchio (now Ventasso) in 1940 and grew up in a simple mountain location, which helped to shape her strong and authentic character.
After starting out in singing competitions, she quickly rose to fame thanks to her intense voice and powerful stage presence, earning the nickname The Eagle of Ligonchio.
She became famous above all for her appearances at the Sanremo Festival, where she set a historic record: she is the only woman to have won three times, with songs such as Non pensare a me, Zingara and Ciao cara come stai?.
Her career spanned music, television and theatre, making her a versatile figure much loved by the public.
Over the years, Iva Zanicchi also established herself as a television presenter and, later, as a leading figure in Italian public life, without ever leaving music.
Her connection to her roots remains strong: her personal and artistic history is deeply rooted in our Apennines, which continue to be a fundamental part of her identity.
