An equipped green space dedicated to play, culture, and community gathering, Le Paulonie Park was created in the late 1980s.
The park is fully enclosed, featuring secure managed access points and CCTV monitoring.
The regeneration of the area created spaces designed for all age groups, with a special focus on educational and recreational activities.

The Science Park (Parco della Scienza)

One of the park’s most distinctive features is its children's play area, known as the Parco della Scienza (Science Park).
Here, innovative sensory play equipment invites children to experiment through sound, touch, and other senses, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and social interaction through hands-on discovery.
Adjacent to this section is a dedicated area for toddlers and early childhood, equipped with traditional play items including spring rockers.

Trees and majestic princess trees

The park's green landscape combines standalone specimen trees, small groves, shrubs, and open lawned areas.
Botanical species across the grounds include London planes, black poplars, hackberries, hazelnuts, quinces, viburnums, and deutzias.

The park is named after two magnificent princess trees (Paulownia tommentosa): one stands near the Via Sani entrance, while the other is situated near the secondary entrance on Via Paradisi.
Near the Via Paradisi entrance stands a particularly imposing black poplar, reaching a height of around 20 metres.

The longest perimeter of the park is defined by a hornbeam hedge, running alongside sections of fastigiate pedunculate oaks.

The Zellige Mosaic: a cultural meeting point

Among the park’s most striking features is a small amphitheatre decorated with authentic Zellige tilework, a traditional form of Moroccan craft and mosaic art.
Created with the support of the Kingdom of Morocco, the arena arose from a collaborative partnership between local municipal institutions, residents, and neighbourhood organisations.
It serves as a venue for events, performances, and intercultural dialogue.
