Biasòla Park
A multi-purpose park along the Modolena stream, featuring open lawns, mature trees, sports facilities, and a community centre.
Acquired by Reggio Emilia Municipal Council in the early 1980s, this multi-purpose park was designed according to a model inspired by Central European parks, with sweeping lawns alternating with stands of trees.
The eastern side of the park borders the Modolena stream, creating a delightful connection with the natural riverine landscape that flows through the city.
The park serves as a hub for leisure and community life, thanks to its sports facilities and a local community centre (centro sociale), making it a key reference point for neighbourhood activities.
Lawns and trees
The park's landscape is defined by vast open lawns, standalone specimen trees, and small tree clusters.
Among the species present are London planes, limes, field elms, horse chestnuts, Austrian pines, sycamores, ashes, hackberries, black locusts, cherries, and Eastern black walnuts.
This diverse selection of flora creates a pleasant, varied environment where leafy canopies alternate with open green spaces.
The proximity of the Modolena stream adds an appealing landscape element, integrating the park into the wider network of green corridors running along the watercourse.
