Il Gelso Park

The park is divided into two sections by Via Chopin, linked by a cycle and pedestrian underpass that connects the Orologio neighbourhood section with Via Puccini.
Parco del Gelso benefits from its proximity to a number of community centres, such as the Circoscrizione Sud, the Teatro dell’Orologio, the ‘Il Gorilla Saltellante’ play centre and the ‘L’Orologio’ community centre.
The underpass has undergone a special regeneration project: the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, in collaboration with local associations, commissioned a number of Reggio-based street artists and graffiti artists to create works that interpret the theme of the park in a fantastical way.

“Il Gelso” is one of the first parks in the municipality to have been equipped with facilities for the public.
Today it is well-equipped, including a barrier-free play area that is also suitable for children with disabilities.
