The work can be viewed every day, with no time restrictions.
In Reggio Emilia, the former Caffarri Feed Mill hosts The Organ Pipes, the imposing permanent intervention by British artist David Tremlett.
The work transforms the thirteen large silos and the building’s façade into a distinctive landmark for a space dedicated to education, culture, and community life.
Today, the area is home to organizations such as the Reggio Children Foundation, the Remida Creative Recycling Center, The Lego Foundation, the MaMiMò Theatre Centre, and a boxing gym.
The silos - each with a façade surface of 100 square meters and a height of 11.30 meters -cover a total of 750 square meters over a length of 75 meters, making this one of the most monumental works in Tremlett’s artistic production.
The intervention is part of an urban regeneration project, enhancing a historically significant part of the city and creating an ideal connection with the Chiostri di San Pietro, which are set to become an international center for contemporary art.
Within the San Pietro monumental complex, Tremlett also created Interno, a delicate wall drawing made with hand-blended pastels.
The work follows the course of the wall, with color gradations ranging from gray to sage and forest greens, creating a perspective effect that expands the space and invites contemplation.
