The “Iride” Nursery School in Reggio Emilia is an extraordinary example of educational and sustainable architecture.
Designed by architect Mario Cucinella and opened in 2015, it replaces the building damaged by the 2012 earthquake, offering innovative and highly technological spaces for early childhood.
The building, described by many as “the most beautiful nursery in the world”, is designed to be eco-sustainable, safe and comfortable, built using high-quality materials.
The vertical wooden elements of the structure recall the rows of trees in the surrounding countryside, creating a constant dialogue with the natural landscape
Inside, the sinuous curves of the spaces and the warmth of the materials evoke a sense of welcome and protection, akin to the womb, offering children a stimulating and reassuring environment.

The nursery is open for guided tours led by qualified technical staff, offering visitors the opportunity to explore firsthand quarters the architectural, structural and technical innovations that make it truly unique.
