The work can be viewed every day, with no time restrictions.

Inside the CORE (Center for Research and Innovation in Reggio Emilia), visitors can admire Anelito, a bronze sculpture by the Reggio Emilia–born artist Mario Pavesi.
A majestic horse that embodies strength, life, and the courage to face challenges, it stands as a true tribute to resilience and hope.
The work comes directly from the artist’s home in Novellara and was largely donated thanks to Pavesi’s own generosity.
The horse, a symbol of movement and freedom, is depicted mid-leap, almost reaching toward the sky, with a spiral tail that recalls the richness of thought since ancient times.
The sculpture invites reflection on personal transformation, offering two perspectives: a “before” and an “after,” much like entering and leaving a hospital, where science meets humanity.

The Artist

Mario Pavesi was born on August 5, 1945, in Guastalla (Reggio Emilia).
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, attending the sculpture course of Umberto Mastroianni, and met artists such as Dante Carpigiani and Vivaldo Poli, who became key influences in his training.
Over more than forty years of career, Pavesi has developed a unique style, free from trends and consistently focused on emotion and inner exploration.
Alongside his artistic production, he is also dedicated to teaching, organizing courses and workshops for a wide range of audiences. He currently lives and works in Novellara, continuing his artistic research with passion and dedication.
