Piazza Bentivoglio
Gualtieri
A veritable open-air stage: this is the splendid square designed by the Ferrara-born architect Giovan Battista Aleotti, known as "l’Argenta".
A perfect square measuring one hundred metres on each side, elegant and harmonious, which still amazes today with its extraordinary ability to blend architecture and history.
Some of Gualtieri’s most significant buildings overlook the square: Palazzo Bentivoglio, the former residence of the marquises; the striking Clock Tower; and, on the south side, the collegiate church of Santa Maria della Neve.
A place where a stroll means immersing yourself in the charm of the past and discovering, step by step, one of the most captivating parts of the region.
