In the heart of the historic centre stands the Church of Santa Chiara, a small gem of Baroque elegance and spiritual contemplation.
The interior, with its distinctive oval layout, is adorned with statues and stucco decorations that lend a sense of great harmony to the whole.

In 1740, the church and its associated properties passed to the Nuns of Santa Chiara, who had settled in the adjacent convent.
The façade, simple and curved, culminates in a harmonious tympanum; inside, paired columns with Ionic capitals and festoons support the entablature, whilst in the upper section there are niches housing statues of Saints Augustine, Jerome, Gregory and Ambrose.

Following various alterations in the 18th century, the church was restored in the 20th century, particularly after the 1996 earthquake, which restored the stucco decoration to its former splendour.
