San Giuseppe Church

In the heart of Scandiano, the Church of San Giuseppe stands out for the understated elegance of its architecture and the artistic heritage it houses.
The current facade, dating back to 1776, is the work of architect Francesco Iori, while the rectangular bell tower, dating back to 1759, is attributed to the master sculptor from Reggio Emilia, Bazani.

The intimate and harmonious interior features a single nave that leads directly to the chapel of the high altar.
Here, you can admire the refined painting of Sposalizio di San Giuseppe e Maria, painted in 1759 and attributed to Miselli, a work of exquisite craftsmanship that captures the eye and invites contemplation.
Other works of great artistic value are also present: the Chapel of the Crucifix contains a wooden tabernacle attributed to Cecati and the organ ornament carved by the sculptor Cocconcelli in 1704, considered one of the finest examples of Baroque carving in the province of Reggio Emilia.
